Creekwalk

On a brisk Saturday, October 20, volunteers from the neighborhood, Holy Innocents Episcopal School and Westminster began their annual trek up one section of Long Island Creek.  In the course of slightly over one mile, we removed four tires, one refrigerator door, and 500+ pounds of a wide variety of trash.  It was a great day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience!  The City of Sandy Springs helped out by picking up and disposing of the debris.

Plans are underway to have multiple groups, neighborhoods and schools clean the entire creek in conjunction with Rivers Alive and The City of Sandy Springs.  We will be happy to assist anyone who is interested in sponsoring their section of Long Island Creek.  Please click on the Contact Us button on the left side of the page and we will help you organize your section.
